Caroline Davidson is an experienced textile teacher, artist ad designer who has recently gained an MA in Textile Culture at Norwich University College of the Arts and a qualification in Digital Textile Print at Chelsea College of Art and Design.
Silkscreen printing courses at Pound Farm Barn take place in her studio and workshop.

'Having taught and produced work for over twenty years, I am passionate about all aspects of textiles. Specializing in design and printed textiles, I enjoy enabling people of all ages and abilities to create their own beautiful silk-screen prints that can be used in a variety of ways.

The course usually lasts two days and I take a maximum of three people on each course so I can give you personal attention. You learn how to create a repeat pattern design and then how to print it onto fabric using a combination of hand cut and photo stencils.

At the end of the two days you leave with a piece of fabric designed and printed by you that you could use in a variety of ways. If you would like to print your own fabrics afterwards I can also give you contacts for materials and suppliers for the dyes, screens, photo emulsion etc.
 

The cost of the course is £160 for two days including all materials and lunch but if you come with a friend there is a discount and it’s £130 for the course, each.

We are in a village called Rickinghall between Bury St Edmunds and Diss.
 
The day starts at 9.30 and ends between 4 and 5 O’clock.

If you need overnight accommodation the local pub The Bell has rooms. There are also lots of lovely B&B's in the surrounding area and hotels in Bury St Edmunds.

If you would like to come back at a later date I can also show you how to develop your design into a digital design that you could send off to be printed industrially, if you would like to have your own design in your home as curtains, wallpaper duvets etc.
